The common eastern bumblebee is a fluffy black bumblebee with a yellow middle. It is the bumblebee people see most often in eastern North America. It is a very busy helper that carries pollen from flower to flower.

Its nest is hidden underground, and a long tunnel leads down to it.
One nest can hold more than 450 bees, and most of them are workers.
Smaller workers stay in the middle of the nest and feed the babies. Bigger ones go out to collect food and guard the nest.
Farmers keep these bumblebees in greenhouses to help their plants make fruit.
Males are easy to spot because they have a yellow face.
