Rosy wolfsnail
The rosy wolfsnail has a long, pointy, pinkish brown shell. Most snails eat plants, but this one is a hunter. It follows the slime trails of other snails and slugs to find them, and then eats them.

For a snail it is fast. It can glide about 8 millimetres every second.
It spends most of its life following slime trails, to find food and to find other wolfsnails.
In 1955 people brought it to Hawaii to eat a pest snail. Instead it ate the rare local snails, and several kinds died out.
It can push its toothy tongue out past its mouth, right into its prey.
It sleeps through the winter and comes out again in April or May.
