Almost all of them are females. A mother can have babies without a father, so males are very rare.
If a leg gets stuck or grabbed, it can let it fall off. A new leg grows back after a molt or two.
A female drops hundreds of eggs onto the forest floor. They look speckled black and white.
Babies are light tan, and they turn green and then brown as they grow.
It only lives for about 5 to 7 months.
