Copse snail
The copse snail is a medium-sized snail with a round brown shell covered in rows of tiny yellow speckles. The soft snail inside is usually black. It loves damp places and lives in many countries in Europe, Estonia too.

It is a real slowpoke. In a whole year it usually travels only about 7 to 12 metres.
It can live up to 14 years, which is a long life for a snail.
In Switzerland there can be up to 20 of them on one square metre of ground.
In one Finnish town it became so common that people named it after the town and call it the Porvoo snail.
It can live high up in the Alps, at 2700 metres above the sea.
