Common house mosquito
The common house mosquito is the small brown mosquito that buzzes by your ear at night. The females drink blood, but the males only sip sweet juice from flowers. Its babies wiggle around in puddles, ponds and old water barrels.

In winter it hides in basements, sheds and even caves until it gets warm again.
